HOW HAVE YOU BEEN AFFECTED?

Well well well.... here I go. I have made a commitment to starting a podcast. And as I have told everyone, the first subject is going to be on Virtual Communities. Obviously this is not the audio part at all. But I am going to begin with a few words and hope to vent a little before I create the audio I promised. Once again I wold like to invite any and all input and or feedback on this subject. So that as time goes on we can discuss more on this subject. It is indeed a vast subject and I think one could talk about the various aspects of a Virtual community.

Today was a day I kind of knew was coming. I knew that a certain relationship would turn ...well ....bad. I have been using the internet for a wide range of things from chatting to gaming. And during the many excursions , if you will, I have made human contact. Not directly mind you. But contact similar to that of a real life relationship. Although there have been some relationships that led to actually meeting face to face. I wont try and mislead you. But, however many that was, its nothing compared to the number of acquaintances that were not met face to face. I think because of this statistic, the experience is not always pleasant for many. Hence the reason for fake people, liars or what I will gladly call ...."POSERS" , and I don't mean the computer program.... There are also those, who seem to be lost or stuck in a way of life that they don't want to get out of on their own. And these virtual communities are places of escape. And then there are the types who have nothing batter to do than to intimidate others who are desperate for love and affection on any level. Sad....

What exactly is a virtual community? You can click here. But I am almost certain that most of you who are reading this belong to some form of a virtual community. This blog id certainly a part of a virtual community. I think today , virtual communities play a much more significant role in how we live our lives than what we realize. Is this good or bad.. thats going to depend on how you look at it...

There are people like I said above that are incapable of dealing with making a change in their own lives and depend deeply on these virtual communities as either support or a place to act out their deepest desires or fantasies. Or at times it's just a way to not face what they dislike so much with their own lives. Is this good or bad ? That's going to depend on how you look at it....

Morals

As I sit here ... barely awake. Sipping on my coffee. I so love coffee. Its aroma alone helps me to awaken. When I smell coffee, I am reminded of better days. Times when life seemed so much simpler. Those days when my life was consumed with daily rituals and responsibilities. Those days I drank coffee too. But never realized just how awesome each sip can be. Because my mind was too busy sorting the prior days events and programming my new routine.

I don't miss those days.... but because all of my senses became so desensitized, the world made some changes I don't think I even noticed. Biggest change was how eager we have become to please ourselves and to NOT give very much concern to tomorrow or the rest of the world and it's needs. Hunger, energy needs, simple things like laws to govern the way greedy people and corporations can become more substantial than our own government. It has happened. And not only are we who SHOULD be retiring soon going to be affected, but our grandchildren as well.

I am personally bothered, when in the news... you will see headlines such as.. how many 100's of millions of dollars a specific movie has brought in ... and in the same breath they speak of how certain benefits like social security or even our own schools lack funds to grow and prosper. There is something seriously wrong with this...

This is a rant ... I WILL BE TALKING MORE ABOUT ....

I am currently teaching myself Tarot

Recently, while listening to a podcast I found on Itunes. I think it was a podcast on the Paranormal. I stumbled across an interview of a Tarot reader. I remembered my mother reading my cards many years ago as well as my astrological chart. So I felt compelled to listen. I immediately became hooked. I have been looking into Paganism as an interest and heard a few Pagans mention the use of Tarot, thus making it more interesting. So I listened and even listened again. Fascinated by what I was learning, I decided I wanted to learn to read the Tarot. Hence my first trip to a New Age shop. Obviously it was local and very obscure. But was very exciting. I felt like I was doing something I really wanted to do. I usually don't adhere to these types of feelings but this was special. So after following the suggestions prescribed by all of the Tarot readers and writers I had been listening to and reading from, I went in with a very open mind and tried to feel energies. This is all new to me and as much help you can find online and in books, I was going to do this on my own. The shop worker led me to a back room where all the incense and wind chimes and Tarot cards and many other Pagan-esk items were somewhat secluded from the rest of the store. I am sure as an attempt to allow better sales of the "OTHER" items. I looked around to find the Tarot cards and was amazed at how many different types there were.... I new there were many styles and I had no idea what I truly was looking for. So i sat down in a chair close to them and looked them over . In the past I would have been more attracted to the bigger box, flashier colors or even just the most expensive ones. But I felt nothing from almost none of them. Then i saw this small redished colored box and it , like the others, was wrapped in shrink wrap. But it did feel like mine. I felt more than anything else, none of the cards but this deck was for me. So I excepted it and Bought it. It was a "Marseille" deck. I felt it would be nice to get as close to the roots of Tarot as possible to make my attempt at reading Tarot as pure and authentic as possible. Not only did the artwork look older in style but the box and the back of the cards looked older as well. Coupled with the fact that i felt no energy from any of the decks but this one, I knew this was the deck for me. It came with a little tiny book inside that had very limited interpretations of each card. But I did however feel very good about this purchase. Not only that but it was only like 15 bucks. So yay me! Immediately I start looking for some kind of help to get started and found so many sites that were offering online courses for a fee. That seemed to make me feel like it would make it all so mucky and just like I was cheating. So I started to just read the history a little bit. It is very fascinating. While I was looking to find a bit of history on the deck and artist I had chosen, I stumbled across an online course that was free called , what else but, "Learning the Tarot", yay for the internet again! So if you are interested in learning yourself. I highly recommend it. Keep in mind. From all that I have gathered from podcasts and writings I have found on Tarot. It doesn't seem that you can truly be taught all there is to know in Tarot. You learn by doing Tarot. I have found that there are so many cards each with their own meanings, thats its going to take a long long time to learn each one proficiently. I continue to listen and read as much as I can on the subject which led me to my second deck... I found an interesting podcast on Itunes called The Language of the Tarot. Created by a very talented woman named "Roberta Lee". She has a great website and podcast as well. She has several things you can purchase to help you along the road or learning Tarot if you want. She also has other books and artwork there as well. As I continued my search for free information online I found another awesome podcast called "The Tarot Connection", a very good podcast that covers some great stuff as well as some readings that shed light on some things us beginners may need to hear. One episode she interviewed Author Kay Stopforth and illustrator Chris Butler as their latest works were released by Kunati. Together they produced a beautiful Tarot deck called "Quantum Tarot". YOU MUST SEE IT!! Its simply awesome and if you are feeling like you are too "Modern" to read Tarot. Then get this deck! You will be amazed. The artwork is amazingly beautiful and so well detailed. And the thoughts that went into this deck are just very thorough and modern. And I am very glad to have this deck. Even as a beginer I am amazed and blown away at the Love and conviction applied by both people in the creation of this deck. The book that comes with it allows you to connect with both artist and author when you read it. Even if you love Astrology, you should have this set of cards. Its truly awesome.

Well I must get along now and think of my next writings... I hope to see some feedback ...

Haters

I have tried most of my life not to use the word "HATE". Its not a very pleasant word to use as it implies something most of us don't want to be associated with. But these last few years have been very disappointing to me and my life in general. Even when its used to prove your loyalty to a wonderful and loving group or significant other. Like... " MAN THAT DUDE IS SO RUDE! I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT". To me that says something about the person using the word "HATE", more so than the person being talked about. You must agree...

But ... as I go through my life and experience more and more. I find that the word and its incantations to be hard to avoid. I find that I now have to make an effort to keep from saying it. Let alone feeling it. I don't think it's because I am turning evil or anything like that. I thinks it is because of the abuse of life. Sure ... I make mistakes and I do suffer in my own soul dealing with these mistakes. But there is so very much that I apply myself and my goodhearted beliefs to and it seems that there are forces bent on making me miserable. Therefore hate exudes.. it then is counter productive in becoming happy and content with myself and what is going on in my life.

I seem to be reaching for .... a substance to ease this pain. Something to make this disgusting emotion tolerable and me able to ... LOVE... SEE.... relax.

Is The End coming?

I have read a book called 2012. Very interesting story. I have seen many movies and others speculation on this same subject. Even the Bible tells us about it. The Mayan calender ends at this same time. And what about all of the prophets of our history. Predicting not only events that have passed, but those that are happening now. I myself am not afraid, scared. I am worried. Worried that after all the centuries we are no better a species than we were at first. Like the dinosaurs we shall perish because of our greed and supposed needs. Our self indulgence. We use religion as means to accuse and place blame on... whatever the religion tells us to. We run through our own little demonic habi-trail thinking were are taking care of our own when in reality ... it is only our own selfish skin we protect. Because we think, " when we die ....who cares" " when its over its over". How wrong ... that is such a wrong place to have evolved. Our species has evolved in the same matter a raging and FLOODING river ... swells and flows faster. Picking up more sediment and garbage AND FILTH. Pulling it along the way only to get to the point where.... its just too mucky and so NOT water.

As a people. We have evolved into such a mucky species. SO full of all of the wrong debris. We can no longer be a species. Even our souls are dirtied from this trip through evolution. We were suppose to go much much further. And that shows in our desires to learn and reach for new heights. But ... soon. It will be the cleansing of souls. The end of this world as we know it.

This song, the lyrics were written by a friend of mine. I never really met her other than through the internet. She is a very unique and special woman that I worry about. I hope she is ok where ever she is . She had a similar life situation as I did so I was able to relate to it and put it to music. It's just a song. I am not looking to make monies but I would love comments.
